3 mountain brgys soon to have water

MORE than 2,500 families will soon have potable water for drinking and for their daily activities.

Aboitiz Foundation, in partnership with the Cebu City government, will construct the water systems in the mountain barangays of Guba, Pung-ol Sibugay and Sudlon II.

Aboitiz Foundation executive vice president and managing trustee Augusto Carpio III and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama signed last Sept. 19 a memorandum of agreement together with the officers of organization who will manage the water systems.

With the water system project, residents will no longer have to go uphill to fetch water.

Two of Aboitiz Foundation’s assisted organizations under its ABAG (Aboitiz Business Assistance and Guidance) program — Kabameka (Kapunungan sa mga Banikanhong Mag-uuma Alang sa Ekonomikanhong Kalambuan) and Pung-ol Sibugay Multi-purpose Cooperative — will manage the water systems in Guba and Pung-ol Sibugay. The water system in Sudlon II will be taken care of by the Sungkogi Lobo Irrigators Association.
