Army reservists, ROTC cadets hold outreach

A joint team of military reservists and the University of San Jose-Recoletos ROTC cadets spearheaded a medical and civic action mission last Oct. 21 at the Cadulawan Elementary School in barangay Cadulawan, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

A total of 363 adults and children availed of free services ranging from medical checkup to medicines, storybook reading and games, legal advice, alternative livelihood seminar and haircut.

School supplies and books were also donated to Cadulawan Elementary School.

GV Hotels provided the medicines and school supplies.

The activity was conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reservists from the 5th Technical and Administrative Service Brigade and Alpha Battery, 1901st Ready Reserve Brigade, 701st CDC and 7th Regional Community Defense Group in commemoration of the AFP National Reservist celebration, in cooperation with 78th Infantry Battalion, 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, Central Command, USJ-R Institute of Non-Formal Education and Community Outreach Program, Rotary Club of Cebu-Minglanilla, Archdiocesan Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary-Minglanilla, Young Lawyers Association of Cebu, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) Provincial Training Center–Minglanilla and Cadulawan barangay council.
