“Juaning’’ to bring rains to southern Luzon, eastern Visayas

/ 12:58 PM July 25, 2011

MANILA, Philippines–Tropical depression Juaning will be bringing wet days to Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

The low pressure area east of the Visayas developed into tropical depression Juaning Monday morning, but it was not strong enough to raise any storm signals in the country.

The weather bureau said the rains from Juaning would be felt over Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas, and would become widespread over the Bicol and Samar areas. This could trigger flashfloods and landslides, and residents in the area are advised to take precaution.
