Forecaster Bernie de Leon said the new LPA was spotted at around 2 p.m. at 1,010 kilometers east of Mindanao. It could enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Monday.

In its 5 p.m. forecast, Pagasa said the Visayas and Mindanao were expected to be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms, while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms. Jeannette I. Andrade
