DZIQ: Slander case filed against Laguna gov
MANILA, Philippines – Former Laguna Governor Teresita Lazaro filed administrative and criminal charges against incumbent Governor Emilio Ramon P. Ejercito III before the Office of the Ombudsman, according to a report on Radyo Inquirer Tuesday.
Lazaro, accompanied by lawyer Sigfrid Fortun, filed 11 counts of slander and grave misconduct, the report said.
Lazaro was quoted as saying that Ejercito alleged that she was corrupt.
Fortun said Ejercito’s conduct was conduct unbecoming of a government official.
He said that his client was demanding for Ejercito’s suspension and P10 million in damages, according to the report. Danica Marie Hermogenes
