DZIQ: Metro Manila police step up security for Holy Week

DZIQ: NCRPO Chief Director Nicanor Bartolome says Metro Manila police on full alert for the Holy Week.

MANILA, Philippines—The National Capitol Region Police is stepping up security ahead of the Holy Week, NCRPO Chief Director Nicanor Bartolome said Tuesday.

Bartolome said about 350 bus marshals will be deployed to over 7,000 buses as the entire police force will be on full alert in Metro Manila beginning Wednesday as thousands who will be spending the holiday in the provinces are expected to queue in crowded bus terminals.

He said that operatives from the Motorized Anti- Street Crime Operatives will also be deployed to various locations in the metropolis. Erika Villanueva, contributor
