THE SAN BEDA Red Lions aim to finish it all today and complete yet another historic three-peat as they battle the Letran Knights in Game Two of the best-of-three Finals in the 88th NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The Red Lions gained the upper hand in this series after winning Game One by the skin of their teeth, 62-60.

The win put San Beda on the cusp of a sixth title in seven years. Also, it also put them on the brink of becoming the winningest team in league history. They are currently tied with Letran with 16 championships each.

Game One’s outcome was decided in the dying seconds as San Beda came up with the biggest defensive sequence of the match when they trapped Letran star Kevin Alas with a double team and forced the Mythical Five member to fire an ill-advised pass that was intercepted by Red Lions guard Baser Amer.

Meanwhile, Cebuano head coach Britt Reroma, aims to steer his San Beda Red Cubs to a fourth straight title when they face off against the San Sebastian Staglets in Game Two of the juniors division finals. The Red Cubs won the opener, 69-51./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
