DZIQ: Number coding suspended starting April 19—MMDA

The number coding scheme will be suspended starting Tuesday next week to enable motorists to travel unhampered to the provinces for the Holy Week, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino was quoted as saying in a Radyo Inquirer report.

MANILA, Philippines – The number coding scheme will be suspended starting Tuesday next week to enable motorists to travel unhampered to the provinces for the Holy Week, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino was quoted as saying in a Radyo Inquirer report.

The suspension is part of the MMDA’s Oplan Metro Alalay Semana Santa that also seeks to ensure the safety of thousands of people who are expected to leave Metro Manila starting this weekend, the report said.

Tolentino said they have coordinated with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Armed Forces of the Philippines and police.

Tolentino also urged drivers to use the Mabuhay Lane to lessen traffic. Erika Villanueva, contributor
