Father of Inquirer bureau chief dies

Nestor Alcira Alconaba Sr., of Cabuyao, Laguna, and Davao City, father of Inquirer Mindanao bureau chief Nico Alconaba, died Monday in Davao City after a long battle with illness. He was 75 years old.

He is survived by his wife Elena, children Joy, Gemma, Nico, Jun and Don, and grandchildren Amil, Tuesday and Sid.

His body lies at St. Peter’s Chapels in Panacan, Davao City.

Interment will be in the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 18, at Orchard Road cemetery in Davao City.
