Two firearms and four big packs of suspected shabu were recovered from a house of a man believed to be involved in selling illegal drugs in barangay Ilaya, Danao City northern Cebu.
Wilfredo Ipil alias Wil Gogo was not around when police raided his house yesterday morning.
The raid was conducted by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7)-Danao City, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) and Danao City police.
A search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Soliver Peras was used in the raid.
Ipil’s cousin, Christopher Sabas, 35, was arrested after police found him in a room with a pack of suspected shabu and an unlicensed .38 revolver.
Police said a .38 revolver, four packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia were recovered from another room.
Sabas, a driver of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Danao City, admitted that his cousin was involved in the illegal drug trade, said police.
Most of Ipil’s customers were habal-habal drivers, said Chief Inspector German Mallari of CIDG-7.
Mallari said a two-week surveillance was made before the raid was made./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
