Arroyo arraignment set on Oct. 15
MANILA, Philippines—The Sandiganbayan on Monday set the arraignment of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, now Pampanga Representative, on October 15 in connection with the plunder case filed against her.
In a one-page resolution, aside from Mrs. Arroyo, also set for arraignment are Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chairman Sergio Valencia and former Assistant General for Finance Benigno Aguas.
Valencia and Aguas surrendered Thursday evening. They were already at the custody of the Philippine National Police.
The Sandiganbayan First Division last week ordered the arrest of Mrs. Arroyo, Valencia, Aguas and seven others in connection with a P300 million plunder case for allegedly funnelling money from PCSO’s confidential fund for over three years.
