THE Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) advanced to the semifinals of the secondary football competition of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) without dropping any of its four matches in the elimination round.
DBTC capped the elimination round with a 17-0 demolition of the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The Greywolves finished at the top of the heap with 12 points after winning all of their four matches.
The team will once again meet USJ-R for one of the finals slot after the junior Jaguars finished at fourth place with one win and three losses, which relates to three points.
The other finals ticket will be contested by University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC).
USPF ended its elimination campaign with nine points after dropping just one of its four matches. It suffered its lone loss at the hands of DBTC.
The second placer USPF will face the Magis Eagles, who ended at third with one win.
The Magis Eagles barged into the win column with a 7-0 routing of the University of San Carlos (USC) yesterday.
In the tertiary division, USC defends its title against USJ-R.
USJ-R hopes to end a four-year title drought while USC aims for its third title in the tournament.
The championships will be held at 6 p.m. following the 3 p.m. fight for third place between University of the Visayas and University of Cebu. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
