2 Hearts 2 Beat run set Oct. 14 at Cebu IT Park

COUPLE Michael and Joan Pearl Pacaña are calling on Cebuano running buffs to join the 2 Hearts 2 Beat run this Oct. 14 starting at the Cebu IT Park.

The Pacaña couple are parents of one-year-old Gabrielle, who is suffering  from congenital heart disease. Proceeds of this race will help them raise the needed P1 million to help baby Gabrielle.

The open-heart surgery for baby Gabrielle is scheduled next month in Manila.

The running event will feature 3-kilometer and 5k distances and offers cash prizes to the top three winners.

The group responsible for staging this run has already helped a CHD patient in Gaven Amora, son of Christopher Dominic and Hanna Amora. Gaven is already 11 months and has gone through a successful surgery in Manila.

“We are inviting everyone to please join our fund-raising activity to help save our child’s life,” said Michael Pacaña during yesterday’s official launching of the race at the Roofdeck of the Pioneer building at the Cebu Business Park. “Each entry is a big blessing for us because we are trying to save an angel’s life here.”

Pacaña was joined by 2H2B secretariat Analyn Bendijo and the technical team of Subgo Triathlon yesterday.

Registration fee for the 3k is pegged at P300 while P400 is for the 5k.

Registration areas are at the Rudy Project in SM City Cebu, RUNNR Ayala Center Cebu, Gold’s Gym in J Center Mall and Runners Circle at the Rain Tree Mall.  /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
