Shoe repairman shot dead, daughter wounded
A 67-year-old man was killed while his young daughter was wounded after still unidentified men barged into their house and shot the victim at 10 p.m. on Monday.
The police said they were initially looking at an ongoing family dispute as the motive as the victim earlier sold the house and lot owned by his mother despite his siblings’ opposition.
Shoe repairman Jose Peralta, a resident of Barangay (village) Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds while his eight-year-old daughter was treated for a gunshot wound in the arm after she was hit by a stray bullet.
Case investigator Police Officer 2 Hermogenes Capili said the girl told the police that she and her father were already asleep when someone knocked on the door. When Peralta opened the door, two men shot him several times and then fled on a motorcycle.—Julie M. Aurelio
