Did you know: World Rabies Day

World Rabies Day is observed every September 28. According to data from the Department of Health, rabies causes the death of between 200 and 500 Filipinos annually. Last year, there were 16 reported cases of rabies in the National Capital Region, which all resulted in fatalities, according to the Philippine Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response 2011 report.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
