Weak but shallow quake jolts Masbate
MANILA, Philippines—A weak but shallow quake shook Masbate province Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The 2.8-magnitude earthquake centered at 13 kilometers northeast of Masbate City at a shallow depth of eight kilometers.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in the capital city, Phivolcs said.
Earlier Thursday, a 5.2 magnitude tremor struck off Quezon province at 11:47 a.m.
The quake centered at 74 kilometers northeast of Jomalig town at a shallow depth of six kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the two earthquakes.
