THE FATE of the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers hang in the balance today when they face off against the San Sebastian Stags in the 88th NCAA men’s basketball tournament over at the Arena in San Juan.

At 9-7 (win-loss), JRU is chasing both the Perpetual Help Altas and the Letran Knights for the last ticket to the Final Four. Both squads own identical 10-6 marks.

The Bombers aim to stay within striking distance but will have a tough time as they will have to contend with the feared “Pinatubo Trio” of league MVP Calvin Abueva, Ronald Pascual and the league’s leading scorer Ian Sangalang.

San Sebastian (11-4) also has its own mission in catching up with the league-leading San Beda Red Lions, which boast of a 14-2 mark.
