Fratman shot dead

A FRATERNITY member was shot dead while drinking with friends in barangay Cansaga, Consolacion town in northern Cebu.

The killing of Gabriel Joshua Jumao-as of barangay Nangka, Consolacion could be fraternity-related, said police.

Anthony Tejero, Jumao-as’ friend, told police that the victim was a member of the Tau Gamma fraternity.

Jumao-as was with Tejero, Erwin Pepito Son and Marco Baguyot in a drinking spree in a sari-sari store past 1 a.m yesterday.

Moments later, an unidentified man arrived and shot the victim from behind. The gunman, who was armed with a .45 pistol, was about a meter away from Jumao-as.

Jumao-as’ friends rushed him to the Eversley Child Sanitarium Hospital in Mandaue City where he was declared dead by the attending physician.

The assailant fled on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice. The victim’s friends told police that they were unable to see the assailant’s face since they dropped to the ground after hearing gunfire.
