The Philta-Palawan Pawnshop Regional Age-Group Championships presented by Babolat will resume with its 10th leg starting on Friday at the Cebu International Tennis Center in Consolacion, Cebu.
9th leg Most Valuable Players (MVP) Jana Pages of Cebu and Stefan Suarez of the National Capital Region will be leading the cast in this four-day event.
The two earned the MVP honors after clinching the 16 and 18 category crowns in last weekend’s competition at the same venue.
In an emailed statement, Philta regional vice president Jess Lagman said that another week of topnotch action and new faces are expected in the upcoming tournament.
The event, which serves as part of the Philippine Tennis Association’s talent-search, is backed by Palawan Pawnshop through COO Bobby Castro and Technosports president Guillermo Nocom.
The winners in all categories will be tapped to represent the country in some International Tennis Federation tournaments in Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and South Korea with all expenses to be shouldered by Palawan Pawnshop.
