Parents of abandoned kids sought

THE Norfil Foundation Inc., a social welfare agency in Lapu-Lapu City, is calling the attention of the parents and relatives of the children under its care.

A baby boy identified as John Mark Artajo, estimated to be 5 months old when found on Nov. 9, 2011 around 6 a.m. in barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City. The child was rescued by the barangay officials from a certain Cipriano Artajo, who was seen dancing along the street while carrying the baby. The child was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) office in Cebu City. The child is now temporarily placed at the Norfil Foundation.

Jerom M. Enson, born on Sept. 12, 2010 in Looc, barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, was temporarily left by his father, Rey H. Enson at DSWD-7 last March 23, 2011. The older Enson promised to return to get back his child but he failed.  The child is now temporarily placed in Norfil Foundation’s licensed foster family.

The foundation is requesting the parents or relatives of the minors to see or contact social workers Angelina Dungog, Sheryl Gacita and Griffith Riconalla at 3401170 or 3405722 from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Failure of the parties to appear or claim the children within three months will subject the children for legal abandonment proceedings through the DSWD.
