UNIVERSITY of Cebu’s (UC) Riez Enriquez and University of Southern Philippines-Foundation’s (USP-F) Joeyry Lee grabbed the top spots in the 12-kilometer race of the Run for Freedom and Democracy yesterday at the Plaza Independencia grounds.
Enriquez finished the race in 43 mintues and 29 seconds to win the men’s 12k race while Lee dominated the women’s 12k category with a time of 53 minutes and 33 seconds.
Michael Largo finished second in the men’s side with a time of 45 minutes and six seconds while amateur boxing stand-out Ian Refuela finished third with a time of 48 minutes and one second.
Mary Jane Beboso claimed the second spot in the 12k women’s side with a time of 56 minutes and 32 seconds while rising triathlete Rochelle Tan rounded off the top three with a time of one hour, one minute and four seconds.
Jory Ycong topped the 6k men’s race as Aiza Suaybaguio ruled the distaff side. Ycong clocked 20 minutes and 37 seconds while Suaybaguio finished in 26:14.
Lee’s younger brother Prince Joey settled for second in the men’s side with a time of 20:39 as Fritz Anor wound up third (22:58).
Anna Laplana (28:34) placed second to Suaybaguio while Michelle Beboso claimed third place (29:11).
Michael Estrera (10:22) and Angelis Arnibal (13:50)won the top spots in the 3k race.
