Thieves strike in Talisay
A JUNKSHOP caretaker was robbed while a house was burglarized in separate incidents in Talisay City, southern Cebu.
An unidentified man broke into a junkshop in barangay Mohon and held up its caretaker Daylinda Abarquez yesterday morning.
Abarquez fought back and tried to grab the robber’s kitchen knife.
Abarquez was overpowered and sustained cuts in the fingers.
The thief took P1,100 cash from a drawer and fled.
In barangay Centra Biasong, valuables worth more than P140,000 were stolen by unidentified thieves who ransacked a house last Thursday afternoon.

Article continues after this advertisementStolen from the house were two digital cameras, a laptop, a video camera, a karaoke set, a motorcycle helmet and a cellular phone.
In barangay San Roque, an alarmed system prevented thieves from burglarizing a pawnshop last Thursday dawn.
Jose Gutang, security officer of Cebuana Lhuillier, reported the foiled theft to Talisay City police.
Police said the thieves tried to destroy the roll-up door of the pawnshop with a hacksaw but the alarm system sounded that prompted them to run off.
