THE 37-year-old man tagged as a suspect in the killing of his father tested positive for gunpowder burns.
Police said the results of the paraffin test will boost the parricide case filed against Glenn Niñeza, the suspect in the killing of his father Simplicio.
The father was found with multiple gunshot wounds at home in barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City. Four witnesses told police they saw Glenn leave the house after Simplicio was found dead.
In an interview the victim’s wife Cres Simplicio said they could not believe that Glenn could be behind the killing since he’s a former seminarian.
Cres admitted Glenn’s behavior changed when he started using illegal drugs. She said there were times when Glenn sold their valuables and used the proceeds in buying shabu.
Cres said they will pursue the case to give justice to her husband’s death./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
