In line with the 115th anniversary of the Department of Justice on Sept. 26, the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor will hold an outreach program at SM Consolacion in northern Cebu on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering legal services to residents in mid-north Cebu.
This is part of Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s “Access to justice” project.
Government agencies and other organizations will participate in the activity, such as the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Cebu chapter, the Cebu Lady Lawyers Association (CELLA), Southwestern University (SWU) Law School, and interns from the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) Political Science department.
The Department of Health in Central Visayas will also hold an information campaign on the Anti-Rabies Law.
The local government of Consolacion is also supporting the activity and is making sure that its constituents will be able to avail of the free services.
These services include notarial certificates of live birth and affidavits, Cebu Provincial Prosecutor clearance, NBI clearance (fees apply), legal clinic by Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Cebu chapter and CELLA, free legal consultations by Young Lawyers Association of Cebu, information campaign on anti-rabies law and illegal cutting of coconut trees and other new penal laws, legal information drive by SWU Law and USJ-R PolSci department and information campaign on Immigration laws.
