LAPU FIRE DESTROYS 3 HOUSES
THREE houses and three vehicles were destroyed by a fire in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City.
The blaze started at the house of Loreto Berizo, who told investigators that an overheated rechargeable lamp may have caused the fire.
The fire was reported at 5:13 p.m. last Saturday. It was controlled in about six minutes.
Berizo’s five-door boarding house was damaged.
The fire also damaged the houses of Emilio and Emilia Berizo. The fire victims who lived in a compound are relatives.
Emilia’s motorcycle was also destroyed as well as the motorcycle and multicab of Emilio.

HUMAN REMAINS DUG UP
HUMAN skeletal remains were dug up in barangay Banilad, Cebu City.
The human remains were found by construction workers digging a hole for a tower of the National Power Corp. (Napocor) in sitio Tayong past 11 a.m. last Saturday.

2 HOTEL GUARDS NABBED FOR THEFT
TWO security guards allegedly connived with a trisikad driver in stealing a television set owned by a hotel they were guarding in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Mark Allen Terador, 21, and Jkunil Vertudazo, 27, of Cebu Evertrust Security Agency based in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, were arrested after trisikad driver Ronnel Rodrigo tagged them as the ones who instructed him to sell a TV set.
Terador and Vertudazo were detailed at the Nekkei Garden Hotel
Investigation showed that PO1 Gleen Alcoseba and Subangdaku barangay tanods were patrolling the area when they saw Rodrigo driving with a TV set in his trisikad last Friday night.
The roving team approached the driver and asked where he got the appliance.
Police said Rodrigo, a resident of barangay Cabantan, Cebu City, squealed that the two security guards instructed him to sell the TV set in a junkshop.
Rodrigo said he was told by the two security guards that they would just meet up to get the proceeds of the appliance.
Police conducted a follow-up operation and arrested the two security guards.
PO2 Gilbert Ygot of the Subangdaku police station said hotel caretaker Josephine Flormata confirmed that the TV set was owned by the hotel.
