Cops arrest father accused of raping daughters

A 35-YEAR-OLD man accused of raping his two daughters was arrested in barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.

A warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Teresita Abarquez Galanida of Branch 56 was used in last Thursday’s arrest.

PO2 Joy Grengia of the children and women’s protection desk of the Opao police station said the abuses happened last Feb. 29.

Charges were filed against the father on March 15.

The father went into hiding after an arrest warrant was issued against him.

Police rushed to the man’s house after getting a tip that he was spotted in the area.

Police said the abuse was discovered when the teacher of the 12-year-old daughter was found to be acting unusual.  The daughter was brought to the principal’s office  where she confessed that she  and her older sister were raped by their father.
