3 rescued after boat capsizes off Mamburao
MANILA, Philippines—Three fishermen aboard an outrigger boat which capsized were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard off Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro Thursday.
Lieutenant Commander Armand Balilo, PCG spokesman, identified the three fishermen on board M/Bca Princess Lejarni Mari as Bong dela Cuesta, 42; Pejay Talagtag, 26; and boat captain Garry Moreno, 35.
Moreno suffered wounds on his hand and was brought to Mamburao Provincial Hospital for treatment.
A certain Lucita dela Cuesta reported to the Coast Guard Station in Mamburao about the incident.
The boat was near the entrance of Mamburao River when it capsized after being battered by big waves.
It was towed and brought ashore in Barangay 2 in Mamburao, Balilo said.
