Maid tagged in baby’s abduction from hospital
The housemaid of a woman who lost her newborn baby boy in a Quezon City hospital is now being considered a suspect in his disappearance.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Mario dela Vega said it was Ces delos Santos herself who first suspected her maid’s possible involvement in her son’s abduction.
Delos Santos was at the QCPD headquarters yesterday to give her statement to investigators.
According to Senior Insp. Rowena Lambojo of the Women and Children Protection Desk, they suspect that two to three people may be involved in the abduction of the newborn from the Sta. Teresita General Hospital on Sept. 4.
The kidnapper, a woman, posed as a doctor and told Delos Santos that she needed to take the baby to subject him to a newborn screening test.
Lambojo added that the housemaid agreed to undergo a lie-detector or polygraph test although the results have yet to be released.
