MJDL keeps solo lead in Customs basketball

THE MJDL Customs Brokerage kept its hold of the lead after scoring a hairline, 83-82 win over the Alin Customs Brokerage last Sunday for a 6-0 card in the Bureau of Customs-3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup-2012 basketball tournament at the barangay Basak San Nicolas gym.

It was a close, seesaw battle with the final deadlock pegged at 82-all with four seconds remaining until Jaymar Elloren sank one of his two charity shots that pegged the final tally.

Janus Abellana led MJDL with a game-high 27 points while Jaymar Elloren and Cortes combined for 37 markers. Israel Alin led Alin Customs Brokerage with 20 points.

In the other game, Kentkyle Cuisine drubbed winless Cebu International Port Users (CIPU), 101-86, for its 3rd win in six games (3-3), while the latter remained at the cellar with a, 0-7 card.

FEATURED STORIES

Kenneth Maningo had a game-high 24 points spiked by five trifectas for Kentkyle while Broker Mondin and Glen Allerite paced CIPU with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
