TALISAY BURGLARY

CONSTRUCTION equipment worth P71,000 was stolen when a fastfood chain was burglarized in barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

Police said the stolen items were owned by Icon Framework, which handled the renovation of fastfood chain Chowking.

Police said at least two persons broke into the store at dawn last Thursday while two cohorts served as lookouts.

EX-INMATE, BOY NABBED FOR MARIJUANA

A FORMER inmate and a 15-year-old boy were arrested after police found them carrying several marijuana sticks in a checkpoint in barangay Li-ong, Dumanjug town, southern Cebu.

Police recovered 90 marijuana sticks from Rondel Morales, 20, of barangayTangil and the 15-year-old boy, a sophomore student of Dumanjug Central National Hugh School.

Morales and the boy were on board a XRM motorcycle that was flagged down by police at around 1 p.m. last Thursday.

Upon inspection, police recovered marijuana sticks from the bags of the two motorists.

Police said Morales and the boy admitted that they sold marijuana at P15 per stick to some students of the Dumanjug Central National High School.

Police said Morales was previously jailed on illegal gambling charges.

Charges of illegal possession of drugs were filed with the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office yesterday against Morales and the boy.
