A tanker ship captain and a crew member were shot dead on board their vessel as it was cruising on Manila Bay on its way to Bataan province early Friday, police said.
PO3 Rodel Benitez of the Manila Police District identified the fatalities as skipper Manuel Ramilo and Rolando Corsiga of the MT Sarah Margarita.
Benitez said the two were attacked by another crewman, Reynaldo Bulawan, at around 1:30 a.m. for a still unknown reason.
After the shooting, the suspect ordered chief mate Edwin Bisly at gunpoint to turn the boat back to Manila South Harbor.
Bulawan then fled by jumping on a docked barge on the approach to Delpan Bridge. Nancy C. Carvajal
