After more than three years of skipping this northern Cebu town from Suroy Suroy sa Sugbo, Daanbantayan is now part of the itinerary.
Capitol’s tourism showcase will cover 14 towns and two cities in the northern part of Cebu on Sept. 21 to 23.
Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia said that she is happy Daanbantayan is joining the Suroy Suroy.
She cited big improvements in the town that is worth showcasing.
“I am happy nga mo-participate ang Daanbantayan because they have a lot to offer,” she said.
This is another development after their meeting with Daanbantayan Mayor Ma. Luisa Loot during the town’s festival last week where a ‘reconciliation’ of the two officials happened.
Garcia has confirmed the attendance of local officials from the sister provinces of Cebu like Laguna who want to join the tourism program.
During yesterday’s meeting with the resort owners, tourism officers and local officials, Garcia reminded them of the “Cebuano hospitality” that they should show to the visitors.
