/ 10:33 PM September 06, 2012

The fire that raged for 34 hours at Cluster I of Tutuban Mall in Divisoria, Manila, damaged about 90 percent of the three-story structure, according to the city’s fire department chief, Superintendent Felix Abrenica.

The blaze which started shortly after midnight on Wednesday was declared under control at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

“The fire has been mostly contained inside the building but the area is still very hot,” Abrenica told the Inquirer, adding that firemen still needed breathing equipment to reach the interior.  Nancy C. Carvajal
