Drivers’ group head shot dead

ANGELES CITY—The head of a group of jeepney drivers in this city was shot dead on Monday, prompting officials to call for an investigation and quick solution of the case.

Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan said Feliciano Infante, 64, was his supporter. Infante is also head of Pasada, a group of jeepney drivers in the city.

Infante was talking on his mobile phone in front of a canteen in Barangay Pandan when he was shot twice by a lone gunman. He died instantly.

The gunman fled aboard a motorcycle driven by another suspect.
