SFO3 Roy Garcia, investigator of the Mandaue City Fire Department, said the fire started past 8 p.m. and was put out about 10 p.m.

Garcia said investigators were checking claims made by some villagers that the fire was caused by an unattended candle in one of the houses.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The displaced families were given temporary shelter at Pajara Park under Marcelo Fernan Bridge, Umapad Elementary School and a vacant lot near the fire site. Jhunnex Napallacan, Inquirer Visayas
