ANOTHER inmate who bolted from the Lapu-Lapu City was recaptured by police in barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
Junry Iran, 21, was rearrested past 1 p.m. yesterday in a boarding house in barangay Canduman.
Iran, Albert Torregoza, Christopher Cernal and Benjamin Aparri escaped from the Lapu-Lapu City Jail last Saturday morning.
Cernal and Torregoza were recaptured in the afternoon of the same day.
Aparri, who is facing a robbery extortion case, remains at large.
Cernal was released last Monday after his live-in partner decided not to file a case against him.
Cernal was arrested for physical injuries while Albert Torregoza is facing a theft case.
Iran was arrested by PO2 Erwin Suson, PO2 Celbert Areglo, PO1 Joseph Casinillo and PO2 Jude Salazar, who were told by the inmate’s mother that she has a sister living in Canduman.
The four policemen went to Canduman where they met Iran’s aunt. She told them that she saw Iran in the area renting a room of a boarding house.
Police went to the boarding house and knocked on the door but no one opened.
Police forced open the door and saw Iran hiding under a wooden bed.
Iran said he was forced by Cernal and Aparri to escape with them. He said his fellow inmates threatened to hurt him if he will not escape with them./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
