A 32-year-old businesswoman was ambushed by a motorcycle-riding assailant in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, on Monday night.
Rowena Bensing, a distributor of herbal medicines, survived the attack.
She was shot in the back.
Police said the woman, a resident of Sun Valley, barangay Calamba, was driving a Black Honda sedan. She was with two friends and two children, who were unharmed during the incident, said police.
An investigation is still in progress to determine if the attack was related to business or a personal grudge, said SPO4 Dennis Moga, deputy chief of the homicide section of the Cebu City Police Office.
Bensing had just picked up her friend, Melona Lopez, in front of a private school on V. Rama Avenue.
