Father longing to see son kills self

A man who had repeatedly expressed his desire to see his young son in Iloilo province killed himself shortly after midnight Monday in Quezon City.

Guillermo Magdasal, 39, was found dead by his other son just outside their house on Kaunlaran corner Kalayaan Streets in Barangay Batasan Hills.

The victim’s son, Gilbert, told the police his father was drinking just before he shot himself.

He said he did not know if his father had problems although the victim had repeatedly expressed his desire to see his other son in Iloilo.

Case investigator Police Officer 2 George Caculba said Magdasal died on the spot due to a lone gunshot wound in the head. Found beside him was a cal. .38 revolver. Julie M. Aurelio
