Southwest monsoon in Luzon to bring rain in PH–Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Rains will continue as the southwest monsoon affects Luzon, the state weather bureau said Friday.

“Northern and Central Luzon and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Southern and Western Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods or landslides,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Adminiatration said.

Meanwhile, a shallow low pressure area being monitored by Pagasa was last seen 280 kilometers southeast of Davao City.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over Mindanao. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere,winds will be light to joderate blowing from the southwest to west with slight to moderate to seas,” Pagasa said.
