Trader ‘shot dead’ at home

A BUSINESSMAN was found dead with a gunshot wound in the head at home in barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

Police said it was possible that someone shot Stephen Visitacion, 34, because the entry point of the slug was at the back of the head.

“Akong tan-aw dili ni suicide (I think this is not a suicide),” said SPO4 Rey Cuyos, homicide investigator of the Cebu City police.

The man was found slumped in his room by his 40-year-old wife Evelyn past 4 a.m. yesterday.

The couple had an eatery and one taxi unit.

Police said Stephen slept alone in his room at the second floor of the house.

Police said the night before, Stephen asked Evelyn and their six-year-old son to sleep at the third floor of the house BC Homes Subdivision.

Evelyn’s cousin Roderick also lives in the house owned by Evelyn’s sister.

Recovered in the room were drug paraphernalia and equipment for repacking of illegal drugs.

Police didn’t find a gun inside the room but only two live bullets of a 9mm pistol and six live bullets of .22 caliber revolver.

The wife told police that they did not hear a gunshot prior to the discovery of the body.

Evelyn told police that she and her husband didn’t fight before the incident.

Cuyos said investigators recommended that Lebita and Roderick should undergo paraffin test./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
