MJDL rips Green, stays unbeaten in Abbariao
MJDL Customs Brokerage won the showdown of unbeaten teams after routing Green, 82-71, Thursday night for a 5-0 card in the Customs – 3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup-2012 basketball tournament at the Basak San Nicolas gym.
MJDL led by single digits in the first three periods then outscored Green, 19-12 in the fourth quarter to seal the 11-point win.
Jaymar Elloren and Janus Abellana led MJDL with 18 and 17 points, respectively, while Noel Medalle and Boodie Montenio paced Green with 18 and 13.
Earlier, Blue tripped winless Cebu International Port Users (CIPU), 85-78, for its 3rd win in five games.
Blue dominated the entire 40-minute skirmish and posted its biggest lead of 11 points, 61-50 at the end of the third.
Tata Laborte and Rizan Herbito led Blue with 23 and 22 points, respectively while Jef Garcia and Cris Manulat paced CIPU with 16 points.
