Chinese Siming outshoots compatriot Xiao to advance to WPA 10-Ball final
SIMING CHEN beat compatriot Xiao Fang Fu, 9-6, in an all-Chinese semi-finals yesterday to reach the championship round of the Yalin Women’s World 10-Ball Championship in Robinson’s Galleria.
Chen will face Ga Young Kim of Korea, who has come close to winning the World 10-Ball, with a silver in 2010 and Bronze in 2011. Kim routed Yu Ram Cha, 9-5, in an all-Korean Final Four duel to clinch the other finals berth.
“This is a big deal to me. I’ll be honest, I want to win this more than any title I’ve ever won or played for in my life,” said Chen through an interpreter.
Earlier, Chen nipped Ho Yun Chan of Taiwan, 8-7; Kim waylaid 2010 World 10-ball queen Jasmin Ouschan of Austria, 8-5; Fu outclassed Sha Sha Liu of China, 8-6 while Cha nipped L.H. Shan of Taiwan, 8-4.
Shan is responsible for booting out lone Filipino hopeful Rubilen Amit, 8-2, in the Last 16.
