‘Tanod’ shoots, hurts scavenger

A 14-YEAR-OLD scavenger was critically wounded after he was shot in the head in barangay Kalubihan, Cebu City.

Police said a barangay tanod was implicated in the shooting of the boy who remains in critical condition at the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).

The tanod was not immediately identified.

Fellow scavengers and some witnesses tagged the tanod as the assailant, said PO3 Leroy Bagiuo.

Police said the boy, a resident of sitio Tangke, barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, was standing on Leon Kilat Street when the assailant shot him from behind yesterday noon.
