DTCC rules 2011 DSCPI midyear competition

THE FAMED Dancesport-Team Cebu City has once again brought much fame and glory to the city after they ruled the 2011 Dancesport Council of the Philippines Inc. (DSCPI) Mid-Year Ranking and Competition, with 13 gold medals, 14 silvers and nine bronze medals, over at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila.

The pair of Crispin Sato and Noelyn Pedrano boosted DTCC’s gold rush with three gold medal performances. They reigned supreme in the Modern Standard Juvenile A and C classes as well as the Latin Juvenile A event.

However, the spotlight clearly belonged to the tandems of Charlea Lagaras and Ronnie Vergara along with Bernie Tumarong and Miljane Camacho. Lagaras and Vergara won the Latin grade A event while Tumarong and Camacho went home with the bacon in the Modern Standard Grade A class. This marked the first time that DTCC has come home with the gold medals in the two aforementioned elite events.

Eo Lowen Rendon and Mary Desiree Seraga also got two gold medals each with victories in the Latin Special Event-Male and Female classes. The feat was also repeated by Jeffrey Benarao and Mae Paracuelles, who won the Modern Standard Youth C and Latin Youth C events.

The rest of the gold medal winners includes Davin Unabia and Kinue Sakurai (modern standard senior C), Charlie Camacho and Marissa Santiago (Latin special event 2-female), John Paul Mocorro and Therese Quilaton (Latin junior A), and Wilbert Aunzo and Pearl Caneda (Latin youth A). /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
