Altas force 3-way tie for NCAA hoop lead

THE PERPETUAL Help Altas forged a three-way logjam for second place after they eked past the St. Benilde Blazers, 78-74, in the 88th NCAA men’s basketball tournament late Monday night at the Arena in San Juan City.

The Altas are now at par with San Sebastian and Jose Rizal University as they all own identical 7-3 (win-loss) cards.

Meanwhile, San Sebastian head coach Topex Robinson has resigned to concentrate on his duties as assistant coach at the Alaska Aces.

The move was a sad one for the Stags, who made the finals last year in what was Robinson’s first year on the job.

FEATURED STORIES

Robinson’s finest moment came when the Stags won the title in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League last year.
