Bad driving foils plan to steal ‘lumpia’ van

He allegedly cooked up a scheme to steal one of his former employer’s vehicles then loaded with hundreds of cheese spring rolls (lumpia).

But due to a sloppy getaway, the plan backfired on Giey Odas, 20, a former factory worker at Super Corn Food Products in Valenzuela City.

Police said Odas sneaked into the factory on Santiago Street, Barangay Parada, at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, commandeered an Elf-type delivery van, but ended up ramming it into the warehouse gates.

The noise woke up one of the stay-in secretaries of the company, who then alerted village officials.
