Shop in mall robbed

Thieves broke into a jewelry store inside the Alabang Town Center (ATC) in Muntinlupa City after it shut down for the night on Monday and stole almost 100 pieces of assorted jewelry.

The burglary at Silver Finds on the second floor of the mall was discovered after the ATC opened at  10 a.m. the following day, case investigator Senior Police Officer 2 Roberto Pareno  said in a report.

He added that the robbers may have entered the shop through the mall’s ceiling in the wee hours of the morning.

Employees of Silver Finds told the police that the thieves took P1,297 from the cash box and 97 pieces of jewelry from a glass display case.

Pareno said an investigation into the robbery was ongoing, noting that the same jewelry shop had reported a break-in two months ago. Niña Calleja
