BIR moves North District Office to new Mandaue Public market
STARTING this September, the public transacting with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) North District Office can go their new office the new Mandaue City Public Market rooftop.
The BIR North District Office and the Mandaue City government signed a memorandum of agreement last Friday for a one year lease of the Mandaue City Public Market rooftop as the BIR’s office starting September 2012.
The contract signing was led by Hermeno Palamine, acting BIR-7 regional director; lawyer Evangeline Abanilla, Mandaue City North Revenue district officer and lawyer Neri Yu, BIR legal officer, for the BIR side and Mayor Jonas Cortes for the Mandaue City government.
The BIR office will pay P250,000 monthly rent, the same amount it paid for its old office at barangay Subangdaku.
Palamine said the BIR prefers staying in the upper level of the new market which has bigger space, a bigger parking area, is accessible, and is closer to the Mandaue City Police Office.
Cortes said the transfer of the BIR office would increase foot traffic in the market.
