Palamine said the BIR prefers staying in the upper level of the new  market which has  bigger space, a bigger parking area, is accessible, and is closer  to the Mandaue City Police Office.

Cortes said the transfer  of the BIR office  would increase foot traffic in the market.

The Registry of Deeds,  which holds office at M.C. Briones Avenue in barangay Subangdaku would soon transfer to the new public market.

The mayor said he expects banks to follow suit for easy  deposit of the collections of the revenue district office.

Palamine  asked the Mandaue mayor for more  police visibility in the public market since taxpayers would be bringing money there and for more jeepney routes passing the market.

The BIR North District Office covers the cities and 23 municipalities of northern Cebu including Bantayan Island, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Danao City and Bogo City.
