Signal No.1 up over Cagayan, Isabela

MANILA, Philippines – Public storm warning signal number 1 was raised in Cagayan and Isabela on Sunday as the active low pressure monitored by the state weather bureau intensified into a tropical depression now called “Igme.”

As of 10a.m., “Igme” was moving west slowly at 280 kilometers east southeast of Aparri in Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 55kilometers per hour near the center, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

By Monday morning, it was forecast 260 km east southest of Aparri, Cagayan; 130 km east northeast of Aparri in Cagayan; 210 km north of Aparri in Cagayan or over Basco in Batanes.

The weather disturbance will enhance the southwest monsoon bringing rains moderate to strong winds over Luzon and Western Visayas.
