Villareal-Bantilan tandem rules 40-above class D
BOBBY Villareal and Abu Bantilan lorded the 40-above class D in the 7th Thirsty Badminton Cup held at the Metrosports Center yesterday.
Results in the other classes were unavailable as of press time.
Villareal and Bantilan defeated Matt Manzena and Rowel Llego,21-12, 21-11, to bag the crown.
Organizer Mitch Fernandez, on the other hand, paired up with Diana Balungcas to win the women’s class D doubles crown.
“We can already say that our return in the badminton scene is very successful because of the overwhelming support and participation of the Cebuano badminton community,” said Fernandez. “We are looking forward for a bigger tournament next year.”
The winners in each class will be walking away with cash prizes and medals courtesy of Thirsty Juices and Shakes. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
